our process

Stage 1

Brief

We listen to and explore the aspirations and needs of our clients and bring our skill, knowledge and experience to each project - testing thinking, shaping, defining and agreeing the brief. We will also share some early indications of “what it will take” to bring ideas to life.

Stage 2

Design

We work with the brief to develop the design - thinking carefully about context, purpose, materials and energy efficiency. Often, we will present options for the client to consider.

Stage 3

Statutory Permissions

We lead you through the complex procedures of Planning permissions, Listed buildings and Conservation area consents and Building Regulations. We will work with you to engage structural engineers and other specialist consultants as required.

Stage 4

Tender/Contract

Unit 5 can advise on the tender process, working with consultants (such as quantity surveyors) to fully cost projects, create Contracts and appoint contractors.

Stage 5

On Site

We can continue to work on site to administer the Contract and deliver the completed project. We can work with you on a stage by stage basis or from project conception through to completion.
