Contract: Garden Extension and Internal Alterations, William Ure Place, Bishopbriggs
Contract Description: not completed
Our main aim was to design a modern contemporary garden room extension in this split level home to provide a new open plan kitchen and a dining room both interlinking directly to a large garden room and to the rear garden itself – providing the house with a relationship with the landscaped garden.
A large expanse of glazing to the garden, with timber doors allows direct access to the garden and gives the feeling that you are connecting with the garden when sitting in the room. A high level strip of patent glazing connects the new extension roof with the existing house wall and allows light to penetrate to the existing rooms of the house
Traditional materials were used: – lead to the roof, smooth render to the walls, aluminium powder coated windows and cedar screens.
